# Customize Collection Page Templates

Fourthwall lets creators build custom layouts (templates) for specific collection pages. Each collection can be assigned its own template with unique sections, so a "Hats" collection can look completely different from a "T-Shirts" collection. Collections without a specific template assigned use the default template.

## What a collection page template controls

A collection page template defines the layout and sections on the page supporters see when they click a collection. This is separate from product view templates, which control individual product pages. You can combine both to create a fully customized shopping experience per collection.

Available section types for collection templates:

- Product grid — the main browsable grid of products in the collection
- Featured products — spotlight specific products with images and calls to action
- Hero banner — a full-width image or video header
- Text — headings, body copy, and rich text blocks
- Images — standalone image sections
- Video — embedded video sections
- Newsletter — an email signup section
- Custom HTML — third-party embeds or custom markup

Every collection template should include at least a product grid section. Without it, supporters cannot browse or buy products from the collection page.

## How to create or duplicate a collection template

To access collection templates, go to Site design > Pages in the Fourthwall dashboard. The Collections section lists all existing templates. Every shop starts with a default template.

To create a new template: click Add template (or the + button) in the Collections section. Name the template clearly, such as "Hats" or "Featured Drops."

To duplicate an existing template: click the three-dot menu next to any template and select Duplicate. All sections from the original are copied into the new template.

## How to customize template sections

Click the template name to open it in the editor. From the editor you can:

- Add a section — click Add section and choose a section type from the list
- Reorder sections — drag the handle next to any section up or down
- Edit a section — click the section to open its settings and adjust content, appearance, and layout options
- Remove a section — open the section, click the three-dot menu, and select Delete

Click Save when you are done. Changes apply to all collections currently assigned to this template.

## How to assign a template to a collection

Creating a template does not apply it automatically. To assign it:

1. Go to Products > Collections in the Fourthwall dashboard.
2. Click the collection you want to update.
3. Find the Template setting in the collection settings panel.
4. Select the template from the dropdown.
5. Click Save.

You can assign the same template to multiple collections. To remove a custom template, return to the collection settings and switch the Template dropdown back to the default.
