This article will give you helpful tips on how to prep your products prior to shipping to Fourthwall’s 3PL warehouse and also avoid any additive fees. There are 3 main things to know to avoid additional fees that we'll go into more detail in this help article:
- All products need to have a SKU barcode sticker unique for each variant attached to the product or product packaging
- Soft goods (i.e. t-shirts, hoodies, pants, etc.) must be individually poly-bagged to be ingested into Fourthwall’s 3PL warehouse.
- Each SKU must be separate in its packing. No mixed SKU cartons. (Ex. Different sizes of the same product must be in individual boxes)

SKU Barcode Number
All products must have a unique SKU number for each variant and a SKU barcode sticker attached to the product to be received at the 3PL warehouse.
To make this easier for you, when you create a product in your Fourthwall dashboard, a SKU number is automatically generated for each variant of that product. You can use this SKU number when generating a SKU barcode sticker, as outlined in the next section of this help article. You can find this SKU number on the product listing page.
If you have pre-existing SKU numbers or if you want to use your own unique SKU number for the product, you can always do so, but you must update the SKU numbers within the product listing.
Generating SKU Barcode Stickers
Every product needs to have a SKU barcode sticker attached to the product or product packaging in order to be received at the warehouse. You can use this SKU/Barcode generator for free.
You can print the SKU barcode sticker at home using a regular label sheet, or if you wish to do professionally printed you can use Sheet Labels or Online Labels to order online.
A few tips when printing SKU barcode stickers:
- Use code 128 Standard for the barcode
- Rectangle shape is preferred
- Standard size: 2” x 1” - but larger sizes are OK too
- Rounded or squared corners are okay
Poly-bags
All soft goods products (i.e. t-shirts, hoodies, pants, etc.) must be individually poly-bagged to be ingested into Fourthwall’s 3PL warehouse. This is required by warehouses to make it easier to pick and pack your orders. It helps keep products in order and clean while at the warehouse.
Amazon will be the most accessible place for you to source poly bags. Here are two examples you can find on Amazon: Polybags or Polypropylene Bags. The size of the polybag depends on the product being inserted. The standard sizing for T-shirts is 10" x 13" or 11" x 14".
Packing
Before you send your goods to our 3PL, please ensure that there are no mixed SKU cartons. For example, if you have five sizes for a Hoodie, each size should be separated into individual cartons. You can also utilize inner cartons to separate different SKU's in a single larger carton. This will facilitate smoother processing and handling at our 3PL. Please review our 3PLs Receiving Guidelines for additional details and information.
