# Integration Reconnection After Domain Changes

Changing or adding a custom domain on a Fourthwall shop breaks integrations that still point to the old URLs. Product feeds, shopping integrations, and connected apps stop working until they're reconnected to the new domain. YouTube Shopping, the Meta integration, and Google Merchant Center each need their own reconnection step.

## Why domain changes break integrations

YouTube Shopping, Instagram Shopping, and Google Merchant Center rely on product feed URLs tied to the shop's domain. When the domain changes, those URLs become invalid and the connected platforms can no longer pull product data.

Three things typically happen after a domain change:

- **Product feed URLs change.** Any platform that imports the product catalog, including YouTube Shelf, Google Merchant Center, and Instagram, needs the updated feed URL.
- **OAuth connections break.** Some integrations verify the domain during authorization. A new domain invalidates that verification.
- **Support email updates automatically.** The support email address changes to match the new domain, so no action is needed there.

## How to reconnect YouTube Shopping (Merch Shelf)

If the YouTube Merch Shelf stops showing products after a domain change, reconnect the integration and update the product feed.

1. Go to [**Apps**](https://my-shop.fourthwall.com/admin/dashboard/apps/?redirect) in the Fourthwall dashboard.
2. Find the **YouTube Shopping** integration and click **Disconnect**.
3. Click **Connect** to re-authorize with the new domain.
4. In YouTube Studio, go to **Monetization > Shopping** and verify the product feed is pulling from the updated domain.

Note: It can take a few hours for YouTube to re-sync the full product catalog after reconnecting.

## How to reconnect the Meta integration (Instagram, Facebook, Pixel)

The Meta integration covers Instagram Shopping, Facebook Shopping, Meta Pixel, and the Conversions API. All of these run through a single Meta connection, so reconnecting once fixes all of them.

After a domain change, Instagram Shopping links can return 404 errors and the Facebook catalog can stop syncing, because they still point to the old product URLs.

1. Go to [**Apps**](https://my-shop.fourthwall.com/admin/dashboard/apps/?redirect) in the Fourthwall dashboard.
2. Find the **Meta** integration and click **Disconnect**.
3. Click **Connect** to re-authorize the Meta integration with the new domain.
4. Wait for the product catalog to re-sync. This can take up to 24 hours.
5. Verify the product catalog and pixel are active in [Meta Commerce Manager](https://business.facebook.com/commerce/).

Once the sync completes, Instagram Shopping tags, Facebook Shopping listings, and Meta Pixel all point to the correct URLs on the new domain.

Important: If there are active Instagram Shopping posts with product tags, those tags show errors until the catalog finishes re-syncing.

## How to update the Google Merchant Center product feed

Google Merchant Center (GMC) imports product data through a feed URL that includes the shop's domain. After a domain change, update this feed URL in GMC.

1. Log in to the [Google Merchant Center](https://merchants.google.com/) account.
2. Go to **Products > Feeds**.
3. Select the Fourthwall product feed.
4. Update the feed URL to reflect the new domain.
5. Click **Fetch now** to pull the updated product data.

Note: If automated feed rules are set up in GMC, review those rules to confirm they reference the correct domain.

## What to check after a domain change

After changing a domain, confirm each of these to make sure nothing is missed:

- **YouTube Shopping.** Disconnected and reconnected, product feed re-synced.
- **Meta (Instagram, Facebook, Pixel).** Disconnected and reconnected, catalog re-synced.
- **Google Merchant Center.** Product feed URL updated in GMC.
- **Domain and DNS.** For domain connection issues, see [Troubleshoot Your Domain and DNS Records](/manage-my-shop/shop-settings/troubleshoot-your-domain-and-dns-records).
- **Support email.** Updates automatically, no action needed.
- **Other integrations.** Check any third-party apps in [**Apps**](https://my-shop.fourthwall.com/admin/dashboard/apps/?redirect) that reference the domain.

## Frequently asked questions

### Does the support email change automatically?

Yes. Switching to a custom domain automatically updates the support email address to match the new domain. No action is needed.

### How long does DNS propagation take?

DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to propagate, though most updates complete within a few hours. During this time, some visitors may still see the old domain. See [Troubleshoot Your Domain and DNS Records](/manage-my-shop/shop-settings/troubleshoot-your-domain-and-dns-records) for DNS troubleshooting help.

### Do Twitch or Discord integrations need to be updated after a domain change?

No. Twitch and Discord integrations connect through the Fourthwall account, not the domain, so they don't need reconnection after a domain change. If issues come up, disconnect and reconnect the integration in [**Apps**](https://my-shop.fourthwall.com/admin/dashboard/apps/?redirect).

### What if the product feed still shows old URLs after reconnecting?

If the integration has been reconnected and the feed still shows old URLs, clear the feed cache in the connected platform, such as YouTube Studio or Google Merchant Center. If the issue persists after 24 hours, contact [support@fourthwall.com](mailto:support@fourthwall.com).
