Your checkout page will take the style of your overall site to give it a cohesive experience. Editing the checkout page is a bit more limited for security purposes, but you can still edit a few sections within the checkout pages:
- Skin - is your checkout dark mode or light mode, or auto (based on the user's browser settings)
- Leave a message section - do you want your supporters to have a space to share a message with you? This section allows that.
- Donations - with the donation section, you give supporters an option to leave an extra donation with their order
- Marketing campaign - enables the ability to collect emails for your marketing purposes
To edit your checkout page, within your Fourthwall dashboard go to Site designer > Layout > Select "Checkout" from the dropdown menu.
Leave a message checkout section
One of the cool features of Fourthwall is the ability for your supporters to leave an optional messages during their checkout. This gives them a space to interact and share a short note with you. This is also great for sending thank you video and notes back to them!
The leave a message section can be disabled from the checkout experience by unchecking the box next to "Enable supporter message".
You can also edit the following text fields of the leave a message section:
- Supporter message heading - this is the call to action for this section. By default this will use your shop name and it will say "Leave a message for Shop Name".
- Supporter nickname placeholder - the supporter can leave a nickname, handle, or other ways to reference themselves in this section. This field allows you to edit the text placeholder that appears in the box to guide the supporter.
- Supporter message placeholder - This field allows you to edit the text placeholder that appears in the box for the supporter to leave a message. This helps guide them a bit and by default it will say "Leave a message or ask a question"
Donation checkout section
The donation section allows your supporters to leave an extra donation with their order during checkout. By default this section is enabled, but you can disable it by unchecking the box next to "Enable donations". You can also edit the amount options shown in the donation checkout section.
Email marketing campaign opt-in/out
By default, your checkout will have an email marketing consent right under the email field of the checkout. Depending on the supporter's country regulations, this will be an opt-out option or opt-in option. Opt-out is when the box is checked by default, and the supporter has to uncheck the box to opt out of receiving marketing emails from you. Opt-in is the opposite.
Capturing email marketing consent from the checkout can be disabled by unchecking the box next to "Enable email marketing campaign".
Here you can also edit the consent text of this box. By default, the consent text says "Email me about big announcements and releases".
