How to add HTML and unique code to your site

Want to make your site stand out even more? You can easily add custom HTML and unique code to personalize your Fourthwall site. The possibilities are endless, whether adding a Spotify player, embedding a Twitter/X feed, or including a Google Maps location.

You have two options when adding custom HTML or CSS code:

Adding custom HTML or CSS code to a specific page on your site

1. From the site design menu, click on the "Layout" tab to see different sections like Header, Footer, or other page sections.

2. Select a specific page from the drop-down menu. Then scroll down and click on the "Add page section."

3. Then, find the "Add Custom HTML" option.

4. Click on "Add custom HTML" to open a code editor where you can input your custom HTML code.

5. Below the HTML editor, you'll see an "Add custom CSS code" option. Select the checkbox and enter your custom CSS code to modify the section's appearance or styling as desired.

6. Once you have added the HTLM section, you can select where you want the custom HTML section on that page by clicking and dragging the custom HTML section above or below any other sections on that specific page.

Adding custom code throughout your whole site

1. From the site design menu, go to Style and then click Edit Code (Advanced) at the bottom to open the CSS editor.

2. This will take you to the custom code for your whole site. Here you can enable header or footer code. Enter your custom CSS code to modify your site's appearance or styling as desired.

Cookie Policy Compliance

If you use a custom code on your Fourthwall site that requires cookies, then the Fourthwall cookie policy banner will not take those into account. To make sure you stay in compliance, you have two options:

  • Update your custom code to respect the consent given by the visitor. This consent is stored in the `cc_cookie`
  • Remove your custom code and use only Apps and the Analytics section of the Site designer

You can read more about cookie policy banners in this help article
