How production partner availability shapes the blanks and print methods you can choose

Some blanks in the Fourthwall catalog are produced by a single production partner, while others are offered by more than one. This affects whether you can switch the partner that fulfills a product, and which print methods are available on it.

Partner-exclusive blanks cannot be rerouted​

When a blank is only offered by one production partner, that partner is the only source for the item. The manufacturer is the same regardless of how the order is routed, so there is no second source to send the order to.

For example, Comfort Colors 1717 is fulfilled exclusively by Printful. You cannot reroute a Comfort Colors 1717 product to a different production partner, because no other partner in the catalog stocks or produces it.

This is a property of the blank itself, not a limitation of your shop or plan. If a blank has only one partner listed in the catalog, that partner handles every order for it.

Multi-partner blanks can be routed differently​

Some blanks are carried by more than one production partner. For these items, the same blank may be available from two or more partners, each with its own print methods, pricing, and shipping behavior.

Multi-partner blanks give you flexibility to choose the partner that best fits your needs. Per-blank availability still determines what is possible, so always check which partners list a specific blank before assuming it can be rerouted.

What to do when you want a different outcome​

If a blank is tied to a single partner and you want a different print method or a different partner, you have two options:

  • Switch the print method on the same blank. If the blank supports more than one print method (for example, Direct-to-Garment (DTG) and Direct-to-Film (DTFx)), choose the alternate method that produces the result you want. This keeps the same blank and the same partner.
  • Switch to a different blank. Pick a different blank that is available on the partner you prefer, or that supports the print method you want. The catalog filters let you narrow products by Production method and by partner so you can find a comparable item.

Yes, if the blank supports more than one print method. The available methods are listed on the product card. If the blank only supports a single method, switch to a different blank that offers the method you want.

Why can't Fourthwall reroute a partner-exclusive blank?​

The manufacturer is the same regardless of routing. When only one partner offers a blank, sending the order elsewhere would not change who produces it, because no other partner stocks or makes that specific item.
