The Header section of your site displays announcements you want to give to your supporters, such as new drops, discounts, promos happening, etc. You can also enable a countdown to go along with your announcement so that the supporter knows how much time is left of that promotion or drop, for example, before it goes away.
Before we get into the details on how to add or edit the Header, you can find the Header settings by going to Site design > Layout > Header.
Menu option
On the first section of the Header settings, you will find the Menu option. This will take you to edit your menus both for the header and the footer. To learn more about editing your menus, visit How to edit menu and create drop-down menus.
Currency selector and Show button options
On the second section of the header settings, we have the show currency selector and show button options. When selected, the show currency selector allows your supporters to toggle between various currency options that you have enabled on your site so they can see prices and checkout using that currency. To learn more about currency selection, check out the Multi-Currency Settings help article.
Announcement bar option
The third section of the header settings is the Announcement bar. This can be used to display any site-specific announcement, such as promotions or announcing the drop name. You can also add a countdown to let the supporters know how much time they have left to take advantage of a given promotion or time before the drop ends.
First, you have the drop-down menu to select between Simple and Custom announcement bar.
Next, you have the option to check/uncheck if you want to show the announcement bar on your site. If you do not check this box, the announcement bar will not show up on the top of your site.
Below, you will find the label for the announcement bar. This is the text you want to display in the bar - like "Free shipping for orders of $50 and more", "New drop is live!", "Limited time drop", etc. You can customize this text as you like. We recommend keeping it short and direct.
Finally, you will find the countdown options. If you check the box next to Enable countdown, the countdown will show next to the text displayed in the announcement bar along with the end date (see image below). This is great to let your supporters know to take advantage of your announcement now before it ends and help increase conversions.
Caution: make sure you use the proper format when inputting your start and end dates, like “January 1, 2022,” or else it won’t display!
