Exclusive products that only active members can purchase
Members-only products let you reward your community with access to special items. This guide walks you through enabling members-only access, configuring tier restrictions, and highlighting the benefit through perks
Set up members-only products
You can turn any product into a members-only product item by updating its settings. To do that, go to Products and select a product.
Enable members-only access
1. Scroll to the "Inventory" section at the bottom of the product page settings.
2. Check "Make this a members-only product."
3. Choose whether the product is available to all membership tiers or selected tiers.
4. Click Save to apply your changes.
Once saved, your shop will display a "Product For Members" badge on the product.
Supporters who meet the tier requirements will proceed through the usual add-to-cart flow. However, visitors who do not qualify will see a message indicating that the product is for members only.
What members see
When viewing a members-only product:
- Active members in an eligible tier will see the full purchase interface.
- Inactive members or site visitors will see a notice that the product is exclusive to members.
This helps clearly segment your offerings while encouraging upgrades or sign-ups.
Add a perk for members-only products
It's best practice to let members know that they have access to exclusive products. You can highlight this benefit by adding it as a perk to your tiers.
To add a perk, go to Memberships > Perks & tiers and select a tier.
Add the "Members-only products" perk
1. Click Add perk in the membership tier.
2. Choose the Members-only products perk type from the dropdown list.
3. Enter the perk title (required).
4. Choose at least one tier where you wish to add the perk.
5. Click Add perk to save.
After configuring your products and perks, your shop will automatically showcase members-only badges and restrict access accordingly. This perk will be listed with other perks for a specific tier and will also have a special section under the "Perks" tab for your members, linking directly to your shop page.
