Set Up YouTube Merch Shelf (and Feature Products on End Screen)

Showcase products from your Fourthwall shop on YouTube

YouTube Shopping allows you to showcase your Fourthwall products and merchandise directly under your videos on YouTube. You can use this to:

  • Organize and display your products on the YouTube Merch Shelf (Product Shelf)
  • Feature your products on end screens
  • Use description links to your Fourthwall shop

If you’re an eligible creator, enabling this feature is a no-brainer promotion strategy for boosting visibility and sales.

Eligibility

To promote your Fourthwall products on YouTube, you must meet these requirements:

Note: YouTube defines and updates these requirements at its discretion. Always check the latest YouTube eligibility requirements or contact YouTube Support if you encounter issues. Not meeting these requirements results in a rejection.

Link your YouTube channel to your Fourthwall shop

Important note: Google may take 48-72 hours to review and approve your product listings.

You can connect up to three (3) YouTube channels to your Fourthwall shop.

1. In your Fourthwall dashboard, go to Shop Settings > Apps > YouTube Product Shelf, then click Connect.

2. Choose the Google account linked to your YouTube channel. When prompted, click Continue to authorize Fourthwall to link your channel (we cannot access your YouTube data beyond this connection).

You’ll be redirected to the configuration screen, where your YouTube channel status will appear as Pending while Google reviews your products (usually within 24 hours).

Once the review is complete, your product status will change to Approved, Pending, or Rejected. You can check these in the Product connection status section.

Note: Products that are hidden cannot be reviewed by YouTube; listings must be marked as available for YouTube review.

Digital products are not allowed by YouTube for the Merch Shelf, so they will appear as rejected. Occasionally, Google's review will not detect this properly, and they get approved. 

Add your shop to YouTube Studio

Once your Merch Shelf is connected, you’ll need to finalize the setup in YouTube Studio.

1. Sign in to YouTube Studio.

2. From the left menu, click 💲(Earn) > Shopping > Set up (you’ll only see this if your channel is eligible).

Note: If another store is already linked, remove it before continuing.

3. Next, hover your mouse on Fourthwall and click Select.

4. Once your store is selected, select your products. 

These may appear as "In Review", which means Google has yet to review and approve them on YouTube. This can take up to 24 hours. We recommend using "Select Manually" for faster turnaround.

Notes: 

Link additional YouTube channels

1. Open the YouTube Merch Shelf configuration screen.

2. Click + Connect another channel.

3. Select the Google account for your additional YouTube channel and click Allow. (This is needed to link your YouTube Channel properly. We do not have access to any of your YouTube data outside of being able to link your channel to your shop.)

4. Once linked, your channel status will show as Pending in the Merch Shelf App configuration screen until Google completes its review (about 24 hours).

5. After approval, repeat the setup process in YouTube Studio as outlined in the "Add your shop to YouTube Studio" section above.

Managing your YouTube data

This app uses YouTube’s API. By using it, you also agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Fourthwall adheres to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You can revoke our access to the data you share through this app through your Google Security Settings.

For this integration, Fourthwall has access to the following YouTube data only after the app is installed:

  • Channel ID
  • Channel Name
  • Channel Logo
  • Subscriber number (for Merch Shelf threshold)

To delete the data shared between YouTube and Fourthwall as part of the YouTube Merch Shelf, you can contact support@fourthwall.com

Can I track YouTube-driven sales?

While Fourthwall integrates with YouTube through the Merch Shelf and end screens to showcase your products, there’s currently no way to see which specific YouTube videos drive individual sales.

You can, however, view your overall sales and performance metrics in your Analytics page and Orders tab. These pages include order details, profit charts, and other sales info to give you a broad view of how your YouTube integration impacts sales performance.
