TikTok Shop - How to Set It Up

TikTok Shop now allows you to link products directly in your TikTok feed, making it easier for supporters to purchase from your shop. 

TikTok Shop Requirements

TikTok Shop is not available for everyone just yet. For now, TikTok has these requirements:

• The TikTok account needs to be based in the United States
• Products need to ship within a short timeframe (3 days or less!), so only on-demand products are allowed (you don’t have to worry; we filter this for you)

Important notes before you begin

• Do not update your products directly on TikTok Shop Seller Center. Only update them on your Fourthwall dashboard.
• Only on-demand products via the Fourthwall catalog or ones sold via a Fourthwall-managed fulfillment center are available to sell on TikTok shop at the moment. This is due to strict requirements on TikTok's end that products must ship in 3 days or less to keep your TikTok account in good standing. TikTok is working on updating the shipping requirements, but there is no estimated timeline for the update. More product options will become automatically available as TikTok's shipping requirements become more lenient. 
• As orders come in through TikTok, they get automatically synced into your Fourthwall shop. Once they ship, we automatically update the TikTok order so the shipping notification email goes out. 
• TikTok Shops orders entire revenue is paid by TikTok to you directly. Because of that, you will see TikTok Shop orders as negative in your Fourthwall dashboard. This is for product and shipping costs for that order.
• TikTok does not share supporter's email when they place an order via TikTok. All communication is run by TikTok based on the updates we provide (i.e. shipping notification, order cancelled, etc)

How to set up TikTok Shop in 4 Steps

The process to set up TikTok Shop is simple, although a bit longer than our other app integrations. We’ll go through it step by step, making it easy as possible! If you prefer, you can also watch our explainer video:

Step 1. Sign up for TikTok Shop

To sign up for TikTok Shop, you need to do the following:

1. To start setting up your TikTok Shop, first, go to your TikTok account on your desktop and click on your profile icon > Business Suite > Activity & support > TikTok Shop and click “Sign up now”.

2. This will take you to the TikTok Shop landing page. There you want to “Sign up now” again. 

3. This will take you to a login page. Here, you want to make sure you click on the grey button that says “Log in with TikTok account” and enter the details to log in to your TikTok account you want to sync with TikTok Shop.  

4. Next, you will see a screen to authorize TikTok Shop to access your TikTok account. There, you want to click “Authorize” to continue. 

5. You will be taken to your personal details if you do business as an individual. This will include a copy of your passport or driver's license, home address, legal name, etc. If you do business as an entity (i.e., corporation or LLC), you have the option to switch to that and enter your business details like legal business name, EIN, beneficial owners, business address, etc. For business, you still have to enter personal information for the company representative. When you get to the privacy and security screen, you want to select "No" on the third-party question, as TikTok does not consider Fourthwall platform as a third party. 

6. Once you have filled out all the necessary information and gone through the privacy and security section, you will do the Shop information. There are a few steps to do here before hitting submit:
   • Select your shop name to be the same as your TikTok username (default) or create a new name for your TikTok shop. Keep in mind that this shop name will be public. 
   • Updating the primary product or service. For this, you want to input Menswear & Underwear or Womenswear & Underwear - up to your preference. This is just for tracking by TikTok. 
   • Secure signup - you want to enter a phone number to receive a verification code that you will enter here before clicking “Submit” to continue the process

7. Once you click Submit, this will take you back to the TikTok Shop dashboard home. You will see that “Register your business” will show as Pending there. That is expected, and the status should be updated within 48 hours. You can still continue the process in the meantime. 

Step 2. Add your tax information

TikTok requires your tax information. You can add by:

1. Within your TikTok Shop dashboard home, find “Add tax information” and click the green button that says “Get started”

2. This will take you to the tax information step, where you will enter all the information requested for tax reporting purposes. You can review the automated generated W9 to confirm all your information before clicking “Submit” to complete adding your tax information. 

3. Once you click Submit, it will prompt you to certify the tax information you entered is accurate, and then it will drop back into the TikTok Shop dashboard home. Next is setting up shipping. 

Step 3. Setting up shipping rates

1. Within the TikTok dashboard home, go to the Set up shipping and click the green button that says “Get started”

2. First, it is setting the ship from address. Here, you want to enter the following information before clicking “Submit”:
   • Contact Person = Fourthwall
   • Phone Number = 818-351-7181
   • Address = 11201 Ed Brown Road, Charlotte, NC 28273
   • Keep the checkbox selected on “Set as return address”

3. After hitting submit on the ship from address section, a pop-up will appear showing that the shipping information has been added. There, you want to click on “Shipping Options.”

4. This will take you to the Shipping Options page. However, there you want to click Home on the left-hand menu to return to the TikTok Shop dashboard home. There, you want to find again where it says Set up shipping and click “View.”

5. This will take you to the Warehouse Settings page. Here, you want to review and make sure the information inputted in the ship from section is correct. Make sure the warehouse name is  “Fourthwall Warehouse” or “Fourthwall”. This is required for proper setup.

6. While in the Warehouse Settings page, navigate to the left-hand menu, click Orders, and then Shipping Templates. 

7. This will take you to the Add New Template page. First, you want to enter some basic information like template name and shipping from. The template name must be “Fourthwall Shipping” or “Fourthwall”. This is required for proper setup. This template name is not visible to any of your supporters. 

8. Next, shipping fees template. There you want to find Standard Shipping and click on “use Price conditions”. 

9. A weight range will appear Once you click “use Price conditions” under Standard Shipping. There, you will enter the values as it’s shown in the table below. You will need to click “+ Price conditions” to add another row for the range inputs. 

10. Once you input all the ranges with the data from the table above, it should look like the image below. Then you want to click Submit and then Save. And then we are done with the TikTok side; now we need to head over to your Fourthwall dashboard. 

Step 4. Connect your TikTok Shop to Fourthwall

Finally, you're ready to connect to Fourthwall products:

1. Within your Fourthwall dashboard, you want to go to Settings > Apps and scroll down to where it says TikTok shop, and click “Configure.”

2. Within the TikTok shop configuration page, you want to click “Connect.”

3. Once you click connect, it will take you to an Authorize page where you will confirm you are a US seller and then click “Next.”

4. Then, it will show an Install page where you will select the duration (Unlimited) and enter your contact email address (this is private and not available to the public).  After you have entered that information, you want to check the box to confirm the information and then click “Confirm to install”.

5. Next is a final Authorization screen where you authorize Fourthwall to have access to your TikTok Shop. You want to click “Authorize” once the button turns green. After you authorize, it will take a few seconds to take you back to the Fourthwall dashboard TikTok Shop configuration page. 

6. We’re almost done! Now, the fun part! Once in the TikTok Shop configuration page, it should show as “Connected” now. If it does not, give it a refresh. Once it does, you will see the option to configure your TikTok Shop with a dropdown menu to select your TikTok Shop account. 

7. Next is selecting your TikTok warehouse. It should be the only one there:

8. If you have not already, you may be prompted to enter a credit card at this stage. This is because TikTok will pay you out directly for your orders (as opposed to getting paid from Fourthwall). Fourthwall will charge your card to cover the cost of manufacturing & shipping your orders in the event that your shop balance does not cover these costs. You can set a charge limit to avoid any unexpected overages. Should you exceed your limit, TikTok shop will be automatically disabled. 

9. Now, the final step! All eligible products that are listed as "Public" on Fourthwall will automatically sync to your TikTok Shop. You can refresh this page after pushing them to see the latest status of the sync process.

And that is it! Now you have completely connected TikTok Shop, and your products should show up on your TikTok Shop. 

Why might my product not be eligible for TikTok Shop?

Not all products can be synced to TikTok Shop due to requirements on their end. The most common reasons that are product cannot be synced are:

• Over 3 Day Shipping Timelines. All TikTok products must be produced and shipped in 3 days or less. Since not all items can be manufactured in such a short time frame, we automatically disable ones that do not qualify.
• Non-US Shipping Locations. Products must be manufactured in the US to be allowed to sell through TikTok. Items that are produced outside the US are not allowed.
• Hidden Product Status. Only items that are marked as "Public" will sync. If it is hidden on Fourthwall, it will be hidden on TikTok.
• Incomplete Product Details. TikTok will not allow products to sync without images, a descriptive name, or full details. 

Items may be disable by TikTok for any reason at any time. You can explore the specific reason that a given product is not allowed by clicking to "See details" for products that are not eligible:

How to disable your TikTok Shop connection

If you choose, you can disable your TikTok shop connection at any time after it's connected by deselecting the "Enable TikTok Shop sales" option. This will mark all products as "Sold Out" on TikTok shop to prevent future sales. 

Please note that you cannot disconnect the TikTok Shop app from Fourthwall until all orders have shipped to abide by TikTok's policies. If you wish to remove the connection entirely, you'll need to disable the connection and wait for orders to ship. Once done, you may fully disconnect the app.
