Why you don't see the cancel or edit option for your order

If you’re trying to cancel an order or edit details like items, size, shipping address, or design, but don’t see any 'Cancel items' or 'Edit order' options in your dashboard, this usually means that the order is no longer eligible for changes.

This article explains why those options may be missing and what you can do next.

When cancel and edit options are available

Cancel and edit options only appear when an order is still within the pre-fulfillment window. This is the short period after an order is placed but before it moves forward in the fulfillment process.

You may be able to:

  • Cancel specific items or the entire order
  • Edit order details such as size, variant, or shipping address

Once the order progresses beyond this stage, those options are automatically removed.

Why the option may no longer be visible

If you don’t see a Cancel items or Edit order option, the order has already entered fulfillment processing.

At this point, changes can no longer be made through the dashboard, even if the order was placed recently.

Canceling and refunding

It’s important to understand how cancel and refund actions differ:

  • Canceling an order or item stops production and fulfillment before it ships.
  • Refunding an order only returns the payment. It does not stop fulfillment, and the item may still be produced and shipped.

If you only see a Refund order option, it means cancellation is no longer possible.

Note: Sample orders often move into production faster than regular orders.

What to do if you need changes but can’t edit or cancel

If the option is no longer available:

  • The order will need to be fulfilled as-is
  • For delivered items, exchanges or fixes are handled after delivery
  • In some cases, our support team or the shop owner may need to assist
