Language and Localization on Fourthwall
Updated April 30, 2026
Find out which parts of your Fourthwall shop support different languages and what auto-localizes
Fourthwall supports English for the creator dashboard and storefront themes, while checkout pages automatically display in your supporter's preferred language. There are no language settings to change in your dashboard. Here's how language works across each part of the platform.
Creator dashboard
The Fourthwall creator dashboard is available in English only. There are no language or translation settings to switch the dashboard to another language. All menus, buttons, settings, and notifications display in English regardless of your browser's language preferences.
Storefront and shop themes
Your shop's storefront, including all theme templates, navigation, and system-generated text (like "Add to Cart" buttons and product labels), displays in English only. Fourthwall does not offer built-in language settings or translation options for storefront themes.
If you need to provide content in another language, you can write your product titles, descriptions, and custom pages in any language you choose. However, the theme's built-in interface text (buttons, labels, form fields) remains in English.
Checkout page localization
Checkout pages are the one area where Fourthwall supports automatic localization. When a supporter reaches your checkout page, Fourthwall detects their browser's language setting and displays checkout text in that language. This includes form labels, buttons, error messages, and payment-related text on the checkout and post-purchase pages.
You don't need to enable or configure anything for this to work. Checkout localization happens automatically for all shops on every plan.
The exact list of supported checkout languages is managed by Fourthwall's payment and checkout infrastructure. The localization applies to system-generated checkout text only, not to your product names, descriptions, or custom content.

Frequently asked questions
Can I change the language of my Fourthwall dashboard?
No. The dashboard is English-only, and there are no settings to change this.
Can I translate my storefront theme into another language?
No. Storefront theme text (buttons, labels, navigation) is fixed in English. You can write your own product descriptions and custom pages in any language, but the theme's interface elements stay in English.
How does checkout know which language to display?
Fourthwall reads the language setting from the supporter's web browser and displays checkout text in that language if it's supported. No action is needed on your part.
Do supporters need to do anything to see checkout in their language?
No. As long as their browser is set to a supported language, checkout text appears in that language automatically.
Are email notifications sent in the supporter's language?
No. Email notifications from Fourthwall are sent in English.
