Integration Reconnection After Domain Changes
Updated September 4, 2026
Reconnect your integrations and fix product feed errors after switching to a custom domain
When you add or change a custom domain on your Fourthwall shop, some integrations break because they still point to your old URLs. Product feeds, shopping integrations, and connected apps may stop working until you reconnect them. Here's how to fix each one.
Why domain changes break integrations
Integrations like YouTube Shopping, Instagram Shopping, and Google Merchant Center rely on product feed URLs tied to your domain. When your domain changes, those URLs become invalid and the connected platforms can no longer pull your product data.
Here's what typically happens:
- Product feed URLs change. Any platform that imports your product catalog (YouTube Shelf, Google Merchant Center, Instagram) needs the updated feed URL.
- OAuth connections break. Some integrations verify your domain during authorization. A new domain invalidates that verification.
- Support email updates automatically. Your support email address changes to match your new domain, so no action is needed there.
Reconnect YouTube Shopping (Merch Shelf)
If your YouTube Merch Shelf stops showing products after a domain change, you need to reconnect and update your product feed.
Step 1: Go to Apps in your Fourthwall dashboard.
Step 2: Find the YouTube Shopping integration and click Disconnect.
Step 3: Click Connect to re-authorize with your new domain.
Step 4: In YouTube Studio, go to Monetization > Shopping and verify the product feed is pulling from your updated domain.
It may take a few hours for YouTube to re-sync your full product catalog after reconnecting.
Reconnect Meta integration (Instagram, Facebook, Pixel)
The Meta integration covers Instagram Shopping, Facebook Shopping, Meta Pixel, and the Conversions API. All of these run through a single Meta connection, so you only need to reconnect once to fix everything.
After a domain change, Instagram Shopping links may return 404 errors and your Facebook catalog may stop syncing because they still point to your old product URLs.
Step 1: Go to Apps in your Fourthwall dashboard.
Step 2: Find the Meta integration and click Disconnect.
Step 3: Click Connect to re-authorize the Meta integration with your new domain.
Step 4: Wait for your product catalog to re-sync. This can take up to 24 hours.
Step 5: Verify your product catalog and pixel are active in Meta Commerce Manager.
Once the sync completes, your Instagram Shopping tags, Facebook Shopping listings, and Meta Pixel will all point to the correct URLs on your new domain.
Important: If you have active Instagram Shopping posts with product tags, those tags will show errors until the catalog finishes re-syncing.
Update Google Merchant Center product feed
Google Merchant Center (GMC) imports your product data through a feed URL that includes your domain. After a domain change, you need to update this feed URL in GMC.
- Log in to your Google Merchant Center account.
- Go to Products > Feeds.
- Select your Fourthwall product feed.
- Update the feed URL to reflect your new domain.
- Click Fetch now to pull the updated product data.
If you use automated feed rules in GMC, review those rules to confirm they reference the correct domain.
Integration reconnection checklist
After changing your domain, review this checklist to make sure nothing is missed:
- YouTube Shopping: Disconnected and reconnected, product feed re-synced
- Meta (Instagram + Facebook + Pixel): Disconnected and reconnected, catalog re-synced
- Google Merchant Center: Product feed URL updated in GMC
- Domain and DNS: If you have domain connection issues, see Troubleshoot Your Domain and DNS Records
- Support email: Confirmed it updated automatically (no action needed)
- Other integrations: Check any third-party apps in Apps that reference your domain
Frequently Asked Questions
Does my support email change automatically?
Yes. When you switch to a custom domain, Fourthwall automatically updates your support email to match the new domain. You don't need to do anything.
How long does DNS propagation take?
DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to propagate, though most updates complete within a few hours. During this time, some visitors may still see the old domain. For DNS troubleshooting help, see Troubleshoot Your Domain and DNS Records.
Do I need to update my Twitch or Discord integrations?
Twitch and Discord integrations connect through your Fourthwall account, not your domain. They don't need reconnection after a domain change. If you notice issues, disconnect and reconnect the integration in Apps.
What if my product feed still shows old URLs?
If you've reconnected the integration and the feed still shows old URLs, try clearing the feed cache in the connected platform (YouTube Studio, Google Merchant Center). If the issue persists after 24 hours, contact us at support@fourthwall.com.
