Add a feature collection or collection list section to your site
Updated August 3, 2026
After you have created your collection, you can showcase it on your home page or custom page by adding a Feature collection or Collection list section to the page.
- Feature collection section - This is a section you can add to your page to showcase the products of a specific collection.

- Collection list section - This is a section you can add to your page to list a group of collections. If you created collections based on seasons, for example, you could showcase the collection options as a section.

Adding a Feature collection section
-
Within the Layout tab, click the dropdown menu at the top to show the pages on your site.
-
Choose the page where you want to add the Feature collection section.
-
In the layout tab menu, scroll down and click Add page section.
-
From the section options, find Feature collection and click Add next to it.
Feature collection settings
To edit a Feature collection, click on the section to show the settings. Here, you can:
- Collection - select which collection you want to showcase in this Feature collection section
- Heading - set the text you want to show for the collection title

- Number of products - select how many products you want to showcase in this section (options: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, 16, 20, or 48). If your collection has more products than the number selected, add a button with "view all" or "view more" so customers can navigate to the collection page and see all the products.

Collection list settings
To edit a Collection list, click on the section to show the settings. Here, you can:
- Heading text - set the text you want to show for the Collection list
- Collections - choose which specific collections to include. You can reorder them and upload a custom image for each collection to replace the default thumbnail.
- Appearance - edit the section alignment, how many collections are displayed per row, the aspect ratio for the collection images, and whether you want to show the collection titles or not.
Customizing the appearance of your Feature collection section
The colors, fonts, and product card styles you see in the Feature collection section are controlled at the theme level. This means any changes you make in Site Design > Style apply across your entire site, including the Feature collection section.
You can also override colors directly within the Feature collection section settings if you want that section to look different from the rest of your site.
Change site-wide colors
- Go to Site Design in your dashboard.
- Click the Style tab.
- Select Colors.
- Adjust your primary, secondary, background, and text colors as needed.
- Click Save.
Any changes here apply to your whole site, including all collection sections.
Change product card style
Product cards control how each product looks inside the Feature collection section, including image shape, text alignment, and button style.
- Go to Site Design in your dashboard.
- Click the Style tab.
- Select Product card.
- Adjust the card layout, image ratio, and text settings.
- Click Save.
Change fonts
Fonts in the Feature collection section, including headings and body text, are set at the theme level.
To change your typography, go to Site Design > Style > Fonts and choose your preferred heading and body fonts. This updates fonts across your entire site.
Override colors within a section
If you want the Feature collection section to use different colors from the rest of your site, you can override them directly in the section settings.
- Click on the Feature collection section in the Layout editor.
- In the section settings panel, look for the color override controls.
- Select your preferred background, text, or button colors for that section only.
These in-section color settings take priority over your theme-level color settings for that section only.
Troubleshooting
The Feature collection section doesn't match my store style
If your Feature collection section looks different from the rest of your shop, here are the most common causes and fixes:
- Colors don't match - Go to Site Design > Style > Colors to update your site-wide color palette. If you want that section to use unique colors, use the in-section color override controls in the section settings panel.
- Product cards look different - Go to Site Design > Style > Product card to adjust how product cards appear across your site.
- Fonts are different - Go to Site Design > Style > Fonts to set consistent typography across your site.
If the section still doesn't match after adjusting these settings, check whether you have any in-section color overrides set that are overriding your theme-level settings.
